We are very sorry to have to report the death of one of our old-timers. Bridie, who came to us all those years ago in a dreadful condition, died last evening. For some weeks she had become more and more frail and even with her own comfortable stable and all the love in the world she was having a miserable time just surviving. The vet felt, and we agreed with him, that it was unkind to oblige her to keep struggling and so we made the awful decision. Her last conscious moment was being fed a couple of mint Polos, for which she had a particular passion. After arriving 18 years ago with agonising feet and a terror of men, she had, over the years, become a sweet natured and happy little donkey. Even though she was always a bit of a loner none of the rest of the herd ever bullied her – they seemed to respect her little woolly self and protect her from rowdy games. We will miss her enormously but console ourselves that she had 18 happy years in peace and comfort after the dreadful time she endured before she came to us. |

So sorry to hear about Bridie. Knowing when to make that call is so very very difficult but is the last service we can give our furry family members.
Condolences and love to all

We wish you a very peaceful Christmas with all the other lovely donkeys.
