Donkey helps Santa deliver gifts

A donkey hired by an isolated village to haul groceries up an impassable hill was used for a vital new role – delivering local children’s Christmas presents.

Teddy the donkey was bought by residents in Chalford, Gloucestershire, this summer to reach homes along a steep 200-yard hill where no van would go.

This Christmas Eve, Teddy and Santa battled up the slope to drop off toys to 40 boys and girls in the remote settlement, near Stroud.
