I wonder how much more of  that there is to come?  Just imagine if we did not have our nice warm stables to shelter in and our bales of hay to eat twice a day!  In fact it was harder on our people than on us – we just stood and watched them while they carried buckets of water up to us from the pond, (you can just see it under the big tree) because ALL the water taps were frozen for 5 days.  If this is global warming it doesn’t seem all that warm.

There must be donkeys out there that don’t have shelter & food, and we do realise how lucky we are that you, and all our other supporters, are kind enough to keep us safe, even in these hard times.  I can’t bear to think of having to stand out all night in minus 12 degrees – I don’t think I would survive.  Even with our stables & barns to shelter in the more delicate of us had warm stable rugs on, and extra straw bedding.  We cannot thank you enough and HOPE you will be kind enough to continue to help……

On the plus-side we know that the days are getting longer and spring can’t be too far away.  In fact some of the doves who live next to us would have you believe it’s already here, the way they behave the minute the sun comes out!  Shocking behaviour!

In the mean time we are anticipating a few more good days like this, when Nick decided it was just right to have a really good roll…

I think he enjoyed that, don’t you?  And did you ever see so much tummy?

His life was truly awful before he came to us, and now, thanks to you,  it’s as carefree as a good roll in the sunshine.   PLEASE will you go on helping us to live safe and
carefree lives?
