PLANS to display in Adelaide a bronze statue of World War I hero John Simpson Kirkpatrick – widely known as John Simpson – and his famous donkey have run into turmoil.

A brave donkey has come to the rescue of a sheep that was being attacked by a dog.
The donkey, called Dotty, fought off the Staffordshire bull terrier, which was savaging the sheep in a field in Scarborough.
