CHESTER the Chalford donkey visited the Stroud Farmers’ Market on May Day to raise awareness and funds for the Chalford Donkey Project. Anna Usborne from the Chalford Donkey Project and Stroud Valleys Artspace led Chester into the market from Chalford, where her three-year-old donkey captivated the crowds. Anna said: “The day went really well and people were so kind to donate money to the project, which will help with the cost of maintaining the donkeys.” The Chalford Donkey Club also offers children over the age of seven the chance to come and meet the donkeys every Saturday afternoon and have a go at riding and grooming. For further information visit chalforddonkeyproject.blogspot.com or Call 07952535814. Sarah Blowers, artistic director of Stroud-based Fairgame Theatre was also in attendance. Sarah is organising As I walked Out, a six-week Initiative involving four donkeys and artists walking 400 miles around Gloucestershire. |
