ADOPT ME !
Here are some of the donkeys available for adoption
NED Grey & spotted, very handsome & slim. He was found
abandoned on a beach, fending for himself. Came to join us in September '95 and is
amiable to all.
NICK
Nick came to us in 2004, from an owner who could no longer care for him.
He had been moved around from home to home, some good, some less good, &
was getting very unsure of himself. NEDDI was pleased to be able to
offer him a safe & permanent home. He had an unpronounceable name (& a
bit silly, not nearly dignified enough!) so our supporters have re-named
him Nick - maybe because it was around Christmas time.

PENNY An ex. Weston super Mare beach donkey. Rather pushy, but
with a nice nature and a very pale coat .Doesn't discipline her foal Laura as much as she
might!
BRIDIE Came here from Ireland, where she had had a terrible time.
Even now, after 5 years, she is still nervous if people approach her head. All white and
quite skittish.
HEATHER. She was about to be abandoned on the moor when we heard
about her. She is very pretty, with a long brown coat.
LAURA Penny's foal, born in 1994. Looked like an orang-utang until
recently with a long orange coat! - this is now being replaced by an elegant grey one. She
is very tall.
JIMMY Also a lightweight donkey, but all white. He is more nervous
than most, and came from Blackpool.

JOEY An very handsome brown donkey with
marvelous eye-makeup! He
was a stallion when he came, and though now gelded, thinks he should still behave the same
way
DAMIEN A leggy grey from south west France
BOYSIE
A super-tall donkey, rescued with his
sister. Very sweet natured but a little knock-kneed!
COQUETTE
- super tall, like her brother. Much more confident - just a pretty
french lady.
BUTTERWORTH Born in May '92 as a complete surprise to everyone, in a
field of buttercups (hence the name). Very smart with 3 coloured patches, like his mother,
Rosie.
JAZZY (full name Jasminius) was born when the Jasmine was in
flower. Lightweight and very fast, he can be rather naughty, and sometimes has to be put in
the goat paddock!
DAISY had a very poor time when she was born, and had to be hand
fed. These days she is very sweet natured, and is the only donkey Jazzy doesn't try to
boss around.
SALLY Found abandoned , wandering the Cornish
lanes. With very stripy legs - maybe she was a zebra in a previous life?

VALENTINA born on Valentines' Day '96 to Alice. Very much a free
spirit, and ignores all fences and rules!
GILBERT A sweet little lad, who has lost all the
hair off his tail from an unhappy time when he was a foal. Was very
nervous, but is getting more confident, slowly.
BEATRICE A big donkey who came to us in a very poor
condition from Spain. She is totally recovered now & is inclined to be
very bossy.
SAMMY was having
a really bad time near Liverpool, & came to us in 1999. His temper is
still a little uncertain!
JENNY came in
with Sammy from the same farm.
EMILY had to come into the sanctuary when the 2 ponies she lived
with started to be unkind to her. She was very lonely as she had to choose between being
in her stable alone, or in the field with the unkind ponies. She has beautiful eye
make-up!
UTAH he was the most afraid when his rescuers
found them and is still afraid of strangers .
DAKOTA is a dark grey male with stunning markings,
rescued from an uncaring owner in northern France.
TAHOE is
a dark brown male and very friendly, in spite of what he was suffering
when he was found.
SEQUOIA
was rescued in the north of France in a very bad way, but lots better
now, and happy with her lovely daughter Sierra
SIERRA,
the daughter of Sequoia, born in safety and very playful!
Mules
BONJOVI the Mule - a wonderful "pink" colour, and
apparently very rare, he was rescued in 1992 in a very bad state. He is broken to saddle
and harness, but doesn't work these days.
